Harvest Moon Channel twin

The Harvest Moon Channel Twin is the result of many long conversations about hydrodynamics with shapers, boat builders, and riders—focused on under-foot feel.

The outline concept in particular the bunt nose is designed to make the board surf longer than it is by having a longer rail line engaged in the water. This also allows me to move the wide point back behind centre for more curve in the back third of the board, for tighter more controlled turns. This wider nose outline also allows me to extend the rocker throughout without loosing too much down the line speed and other than the top 4 inches or so, the rail rocker is fairly close to a performance short board rocker curve.

Turning to the bottom, it’s got a deep double concave from the middle through to the tail, with a single under the chest that blends into the front foot area. The channels run through the deepest point of the double concave which ends up following the outline curve before releasing behind the fins. The idea behind this was to reduce the suction created by deep concaves and break up the surface tension when trimming down the line. Then, when on rail, creating more resistance under the heel and toe of the back foot for more drive through turns.

Overall this is a super experimental board that’ll surprise you by how normal it feels. It has all the maneuverability of a performance short board and all the flow and drive of a fish. Im super happy with this design and regard it as my most performance model in the collection.
